Fatal Los Angeles hit-and-run death of Isaac Arellanes Jr. – Obituary
An 18-year-old student lost his life and six others were injured in a hit-and-run collision outside a Starbucks in Chinatown, Los Angeles, early Saturday morning, authorities reported.
Emergency responders arrived at the crash site near Broadway and Cesar Chavez Avenue just before 12:45 a.m., according to a bulletin from the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The incident involved a rollover when a vehicle traveling west on Cesar Chavez collided with another heading north on Broadway. Officer Kevin Terzes of the Los Angeles Police Department stated that the 18-year-old, who was a passenger in the car that was struck, was later declared dead at the hospital.
Although police have not released the victim’s identity, family members gathered at the crash scene on Saturday evening identified him as Isaac Arellanes Jr., a student at Rio Hondo College.
