Alvin J. Newman dies in fatal Stark County jaywalking accident
Fatal Stark County jaywalking death of Alvin J. Newman – Obituary
A 66-year-old man from Canton, Alvin J. Newman, has died after being struck by a vehicle while jaywalking in the Belden Village area on November 30.
The accident occurred just before 9 p.m. when Newman attempted to cross Everhard Road NW west of Whipple Avenue and was hit by an eastbound 2023 Chevy Trailblazer driven by a 54-year-old man.
Newman succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. The Jackson Township Police continue to investigate the incident.
